Kayak Rentals

Enjoy our "neck of the woods" with a kayak trip along one of our local rivers or lakes. The North Fork of the Flambeau River provides a variety of opportunities to paddle and we have two favorites:

First, is north of town between Holt and Agenda boat landings. This is great fun for the adventurous spirit with a series of nine rapids all rated 1 and 2 (good for all levels of experience). An added plus: the scenery is remote and pristine. Trip averages 2-3 hours.

Second, is south of Park Falls from the Highway 13 bridge to Smith Lake. Here, you can paddle a relaxing 2 hours and enjoy shoreline of farms, wooded lands and wildlife. After reaching Smith Lake, enjoy a swim at the sandy beach or enjoy a picnic at the pavilion (this site has convenient indoor restrooms).

A variety of other kayaking opportunities exist in the area and we'd be glad to help you find a trip that's right for you. It's a great way to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Kayak Rentals are for 24 hours from time of pick up and includes paddles and life vest. Cost $25
(When time allows, we do shuttles and delivery; cost varies by distance).

Snowshoe Rentals

The Northwoods is full of trails that lend themselves to snowshoeing. It's a sport that is easy to learn and great fun for all ages. Two of our favorite snowshoe spots are Round Lake Logging Dam and Newman Springs Ski and Snowshoe Trail. Both are located east of Park Falls in the Chequamegon National Forest, are easily accessible and have parking lots.

Round Lake Logging Dam is a restored 1890s dam and the head-waters for the South Fork of the Flambeau River where it begins flowing out of Round Lake. Trails include a series of loops and our favorite runs along Round Lake through stands of red pine trees and mature hardwoods. Lots of wildlife and natural beauty here!

Newman Springs Trail has several loops with Loops A and B being best for snowshoeing. The trails are hilly and rolling, wooded and run by the springs, a pond and a creek. Here there are stands of mature red and white pine. Very pristine and peaceful.

Snowshoe Rentals are for 24 hours from the time of pick up and includes poles. Cost: $14 for adults; $10 for children.

Whichever activity you choose to enjoy, be sure to bring your camera to capture family fun and beautiful local scenery.
